Pay: $67 per hour Shift Information: Nights Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Registered Nurse - ICU – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - ICU Location: Bozeman, MT Start Date: 03-02-2026 End Date: 06-01-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Nights and weekends, 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week (36 hours weekly). Exact start/end times vary by unit; night shift schedule with weekend coverage required. Roles & Responsibilities Assess critically ill patients comprehensively and synthesize findings into timely clinical decisions Develop individualized plans of care and implement evidence-based interventions for ICU patients Provide patient and family education to support recovery, discharge planning, and ongoing care Execute emergency response protocols (BLS, ACLS, PALS) and lead rapid interventions when needed Maintain stroke competency and perform NIH Stroke Scale assessments as required Promote infection control best practices to keep patients and staff safe Evaluate and improve your own nursing practice and contribute to unit quality initiatives Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and advocate for patients Qualifications Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required) NIH Stroke Scale certification (to be obtained within 6 months of hire) American Heart Association BLS (required) American Heart Association ACLS (to be obtained within 8 months of hire) American Heart Association PALS (to be obtained within 8 months of hire) Competence in, and willingness to practice, modified primary nursing Experience or comfort working in ICU/critical care environments (preferred) Strong emotional intelligence, teamwork, and the ability to work varied shifts including nights and weekends Knowledge & Skills Patient assessment and clinical diagnosis in acute and critical care settings Plan of care development and implementation tailored to individual patient needs Patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication Clinical documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance (DNV and hospital policy) Emergency response skills and proficiency with ACLS/PALS/BLS algorithms Infection control practices and safe patient handling Interpersonal skills, leadership, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams Ability to evaluate and improve nursing practice based on current evidence Benefits A supportive team that values your critical care expertise and has your back when it gets busy Professional development and stroke competency training to help you grow clinically Licensure and certification support so you can maintain required credentials with less hassle Flexible scheduling centered on a consistent 3x12 night rhythm to help you plan life outside work Access to robust clinical resources and infection control protocols in a DNV-accredited setting Paid time off and work/life balance emphasis for regular, sustained attendance roles Opportunities for leadership and professional mentorship within the ICU A collaborative workplace where teamwork, emotional intelligence, and strong communication are prized Travel Perks: Explore Bozeman, MT Bozeman is an outdoor lover's playground.
