Job Description:
Purpose and Scope of PositionThe Payroll Administrator is the
subject matter expert for all issues surrounding payroll,taxes, and
benefits for internal and external stakeholders. They are
responsible for the accurate and timely submission of payroll;
reporting to outside entities including taxing authorities, .
garnishment sources, and ADP (or other payroll systems);
maintaining payroll related employee benefits; and appropriate
documentation of payroll and related transactions. This role will
not only be a defender of payroll related systems but be expected
to offer solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and/or
improve services to our employees.Organizational
RelationshipReports to the Controller and will manage 1-2
employeesDuties and Responsibilities--- Train and oversee employees
involved in payroll functions and assist with performance
evaluations--- Provide payroll staff with direction and support,
assigning and monitoring work--- Complete and supervise all payroll
functions:
- Maintenance of Payroll DataContinuously monitor and maintain
payroll, taxes, and benefit data to ensure current and accurate
information for payroll processing.- Prepare Data for Bi-Weekly
Payroll ProcessingBi-Weekly prepare data for payroll processing
including tracking time and expense approvals, accuracy of
deductions, etc.- Bi-Weekly Payroll ProcessingManage processing of
bi-weekly payroll from the source data in the ERP system into the
ADP platform. Check and re-check data for accuracy prior to
submission for processing.- Bi-Weekly Payroll Wrap UpComplete
payroll process by issuing payroll reports, employer tax
submissions, garnishment processing, 401(K) and related tasks.-
Internal and External Payroll OmbudsmanRespond to payroll
questions/communications from employees, managers, taxing
authorities, benefit administrators, etc.Basic Qualifications---
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree
preferred--- 3+ years of full cycle Payroll experience; accounting
experience preferred--- Proven supervisor experienceKnowledge,
Skills, Abilities, & Personality Characteristics--- Ability to
maintain confidentiality ---- Payroll/Payroll taxes/employee
benefits expertise--- Attention to Detail and Strong Organizational
Skills--- Ability to manage 1-2 employees--- Ability to take
ownership and work in a fast-paced environment--- Be able to
prioritize and manage multiple tasks with little supervision---
Excellent written and verbal communications--- Craft and defend
logical arguments in a peer environment--- Proficient in Microsoft
Office Suite--- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and
working on a computer. ---- Must be able to lift 15-lbs.Wildfire
