License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life
Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Must-Have: Experience in pediatrics through geriatrics Description:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the practice of
professional nursing. This includes assessment, planning,
intervention, and evaluation of patients. Registered Nurses are
expected to function independently within a reasonable time frame
not to exceed 18 months. Assess and document the physical condition
of patients each shift and monitor for changes. Notify the
physician of any changes in patient condition. Perform initial
interviews of patients and create individualized care plans.
Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, responding
appropriately to situations. Initiate and document patient
education plans, teaching interventions, and ensure patient
understanding of concepts taught. Initiate discharge planning for
patients and families. Perform treatments, nursing interventions,
and administer medications per standards of care and hospital
policy. Document all interventions and patient conditions
post-intervention. Evaluate the progress of patients in relation to
the plan of care and the treatments ordered by physicians. Ensure
patients are safe for discharge and have post-services in place.
Attend and participate in all Acute Care Nursing Staff meetings.
Contribute to performance improvement activities, competency
validation, and continuing education. Collaborate with medical
staff to facilitate progress towards each patient’s goals. Attend
all quarterly trauma meetings. Attend at least 90% of departmental
meetings. Maintain at least 95% barcode scanning compliance
monthly. Holiday coverage may be required. 5 Benefits of Travel
