Job Description:
Job Description: Assists patients with healthcare needs who are
ill or recovering from surgery or disease. Certified Nurse Aides
are assigned by an RN. The C.N.A. functions under the delegation of
an RN. The Patient Greeter performs a variety of supportive tasks
to assist patients and families. Performs routine and delegated
duties according to departmental policies and provides assistance
to the patients, families and floor staff by performing the
following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CNA 1. (All
SCL jobs) Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and
abides by service behavior standards. 2. (All SCL jobs) Performs
other duties as assigned. 3. (If applicable) May be required to
float to other departments (within scope of competency and
qualifications) based on business need. 4. (If applicable) May be
required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
5. Carries out nursing care delegated by the RN. 6. Receives report
from RN daily by 0830 or 2030 to coordinate plan of care related to
ADL’s. Documents all ADL’s for each patient every shift. 7. Answers
lights, or intercom system to determine patients' needs. 8. Assists
patients in activities of daily living; ex: bathing, teeth brushed,
linen change, pericare, walking. 9. Serves and collects food trays
and feeds patients requiring help. 10. Transports patients or
assists patients to walk. 11. Turns and repositions patients, as
needed. 12. Runs errands, and directs visitors. 13. Participates in
admission/discharge activities 14. Takes and records routine vital
signs, daily weights, food and fluid intake and output, and
documents information in a timely manner. Reports age specific
variance to RN. 15. Accurately documents the care provided to
patient during shift. 16. Adheres to infection prevention
strategies. 17. Stock rooms with supplies. Stock isolation racks
with supplies. 18. Responsible to perform purposeful rounding. 19.
Updates “care boards” to include name, plan related to ADL’s, date
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES GREETER 1. Serves as the main
greeter in the medical/surgical areas for patients and family
members. 2. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of the
patient and family. 3. Answers telephone, in accordance with the
Service Excellence Behavior Standards. 4. Reports information in a
timely manner. 5. Performs typing functions as needed. 6. Consults
Nursing Supervisor and RN Shift Lead to determine flow of patients
throughout the day. 7. Obtains and stocks coffee supplies for
patient and family needs. 8. Maintain immediate availability to
families to assist with questions or concerns for patients in the
operating room or endoscopy department. 9. Act as a role model for
orientation and training of other greeters (e.g. auxiliary
volunteer) in the waiting room. 10. Communicates with patients and
families and keeps them updated with progression of
surgical/endoscopic cases. 11. Demonstrates behaviors consistent
with organizational mission and goals. 12. Participates in facility
Quality Improvement/IOP Program. 13. Demonstrates knowledge of
patient flow within the surgical services department and able to
communicate family needs to the surgical services associates. 14.

appropriate. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required : High School Diploma or
general education degree (GED) Nurse Aide Skills Checklist
Preferred : CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION, LICENSE (*indicates
primary source verification requirement) Required : Current Montana
C.N.A. certification required upon hire BLS required within 60 days
of hire Preferred : KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, AND ABILITIES To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty

uninvolved written or oral instructions. 7. Ability to deal with
problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized

position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon
