Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Surgical Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 07/28/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Position Summary The Surgical Technologist serves as a scrub person, working under the supervision of the surgeon and RN to maintain a safe operating room environment. Ensures proper equipment function and conducts operative procedures under conditions that maximize patient safety. Demonstrates expertise in surgical techniques, human anatomy, surgical procedures, and the use of tools and technologies to support safe patient care during invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma or Equivalent - Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military surgical technologist program - American Heart Association BLS certification - Certified Surgical Technologist Essential Job Functions - Ensures completion of case carts according to preference cards, interpreting and procuring necessary instruments and supplies - Communicates effectively with operating room and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled cases - Reviews daily schedule with the charge nurse and sterile processing day coordinator to identify potential turnover delays and scheduling issues - Manages core phone and communications, delegating duties and coordinating breaks and lunches with appropriate team members - Serves as a resource for Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and Surgical Services for procurement of supplies and instrumentation for surgical procedures - Collaborates with materials management to optimize supply utilization and deployment About iDEAL Hire iDeal Travel Staffing is dedicated to working with the best of the best in travel healthcare.
