Shift: 36 Experience: 1 Year Labor and Delivery RN Experience or
PACU Experience License: Registered Nurse License (Montana or
Compact License) Certifications: NRP Certification, BLS
Certification through the American Heart Association, ACLS
Certification through the American Heart Association Must-Have:
Must possess the skills and abilities to engage in the nursing
process. Description: Must possess the skills and abilities to
engage in the nursing process, including assessment, nursing
analysis, planning, nursing intervention, and evaluation. Must have
the skills needed to supervise and delegate appropriate functions
to subordinate personnel. Must have the skills and abilities to
evaluate and ensure that the medical plan of care is carried out.
Must have the educational, physical, and mental capabilities to
perform procedures common to their nursing unit. Collects
comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the
situation through systematic and ongoing processes. Involves the
patient, family, and other healthcare providers in data collection.
Prioritizes data collection activities based on the patient's
immediate condition or anticipated needs. Uses evidence-based
assessment techniques in collecting pertinent data. Synthesizes
available data, information, and knowledge relevant to the
situation to identify patterns and variances. Analyzes the
assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues. Derives patient
nursing diagnoses or issues based on assessment data. Validates
nursing diagnoses or issues with the patient, family, and other
healthcare providers when possible and appropriate. Documents
nursing diagnoses or issues in a manner that facilitates the
determination of the expected outcome or plan. Identifies expected
outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
Develops culturally appropriate expected outcomes for the
diagnoses. Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and
alternatives to attain expected outcomes based on patient
characteristics or the situation. Implements the plan of care in a
safe and timely manner. Documents implementation and any
modifications to the plan of care. Collaborates with nursing
colleagues and others to implement the identified plan of care.
Coordinates the implementation of the plan of care. Provides health
teaching that addresses topics such as healthy lifestyles,
risk-reducing behaviors, and preventative self-care. Seeks
opportunities for feedback and evaluation of the effectiveness of
health teaching strategies used. Demonstrates quality by
documenting the application of the nursing process in a responsible
and ethical manner. Participates in quality improvement activities
to enhance the quality of nursing practice. Attains knowledge and
competency that reflects current nursing practice. Demonstrates a
commitment to lifelong learning through self-reflection and
inquiry. Evaluates one's own nursing practice in relation to
professional practice standards and guidelines. Provides
age-appropriate care in a culturally sensitive manner. Engages in
self-evaluation of practice on a regular basis, identifying areas
for professional development. Interacts with and contributes to the
professional development of peers and colleagues. Maintains
compassionate and caring relationships with peers and colleagues.
Contributes to an environment that supports the education of
healthcare professionals. Collaborates with patients, families, and
