Job Description:
Position Summary: Perform daily clinical adult cardiac
ultrasound diagnostic procedures (echocardiography), assessing
basic and advanced cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology, creating
preliminary reports for interpretation by cardiologist. Minimum
Qualifications: Required Associate Degree in Cardiovascular
Technology from a CAAHEP program or Health Science Program American
Heart Association BLS Current Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Six (6) months
of clinical training in cardiac ultrasound or comparable experience
Preferred Two (2) years of experience in post-graduation cardiac
ultrasound American Heart Association ACLS Essential Job Functions:
In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below,
employees must have on-time completion of all required education as
assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other
registry requirements. Performs routine two-dimensional echo,
stress echo, pharmacological stress echo, transesophageal echo, and
emergent echo procedures in accordance with standard practice,
requiring the ability to learn and understand required advanced
echo techniques such as 3D and strain imaging. Utilizes ultrasound
enhancing agents (UEA s) and agitated saline when requested or
clinically necessary. Provides echocardiography service at all
locations needed, working variable shifts, weekends, and providing
emergent call coverage as scheduled. Operates equipment necessary
to perform all required procedures. Maintains equipment in working
order. Performs routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and
report any equipment malfunction to biomed team or echo lab
supervisor. Evaluates patient's electronic medical record to obtain
patient history, reason for exam, and any necessary information to
perform study. Prepares preliminary reports for review and
interpretation by cardiologist including comparison of previous
studies. Participates in professional education, lab meetings, and
quality improvement projects. Participates in the reaccreditation
process and quality demands of Intersocietal Accreditation
Commission of Echocardiography (IAC-Echo). Completes documentation
of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting,
archiving and retrieval of exams. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working
beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and
after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond
promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. Physical

(Continuously): Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working
primarily with fingers rather than using the whole hand as in
handling. Vision (Continuously): Close visual acuity to prepare and
analyze data and figures and to read computer screens, printed
materials, and handwritten materials. Cognitive Skills
(Continuously): Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain
focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in
the context of a workflow. Exposures (Rarely): Bloodborne
pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in
settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various
chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job
tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and
other substances. Infectious diseases due to contact with patients
in areas that may have contagious illnesses. Shift: Mostly days
(0700-1530) with rotation to hospital which requires call and
