and/or Level of Care Placement License: Licensed as an LCSW, LCPC,
or LMFT in the state of Montana Certifications: American Heart
Association BLS Must-Have: Master's degree in Social Work or other
comparable clinical master's degree program Demonstrates sound
judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all
times Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains
confidentiality Performs essential job functions successfully in a
busy and stressful environment Strong interpersonal, verbal, and
written communication skills Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes
work while meeting multiple deadlines Description: The Crisis
Intervention Specialist provides patient-centered, trauma-informed,
urgent and emergent behavioral health services in adult and
pediatric emergency settings. This position is for licensed
clinical professionals. Key services include but are not limited to
brief psychosocial assessment, brief drug and alcohol assessment,
crisis intervention, hold assessment, inpatient diversion, care
coordination, and communication with the medical team, family,
referents, access community-based providers, and transitions of
care/discharge planning. Incumbents provide a variety of key
services in guiding the patient through the continuum of care.
Works both independently and collaboratively as part of an
interdisciplinary team. Provides behavioral health consultations by
supporting or assisting practitioners, family members, and
patients. Provides focused, effective, and evidence-based
interventions. Requires regular and sustained attendance. The
position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour
workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work
may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or
employee needs. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50
pounds occasionally, maintaining sitting, standing, and walking
positions. Climbing, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling,
reaching above shoulder level, and fine-finger movements are also
required. Continuous exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals,
medications, and infectious diseases may occur in this role.
Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed
patients or difficult family interactions, are part of the job.
