Job Title: Inpatient Psychiatric Unit Therapist Profession:
Advanced Practice Specialty: Psych/Mental Health Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience:
Minimum of one year preferred License: Fully licensed therapist in
the state Certifications: American Heart Association BLS Must-Have:
Master Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related
field; Licensed as LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT or licensure eligible
Description: The Inpatient Psychiatric Unit Therapist works within
a multidisciplinary team. This position provides services to
patients in an acute adult inpatient behavioral health setting. The
Therapist works with other team members to stabilize patients in a
mental health crisis. The role includes providing comprehensive
clinical social work services. Therapy services include individual,
group, and family therapy. Discharge planning, case management,
care coordination, and crisis intervention are also key
responsibilities. This position seeks to address the psychosocial
needs of patients and their families. The goal is to ensure a safe
return to the community upon discharge from the inpatient unit.
Support the mental and physical health care of patients on the
adult Behavioral Health Unit. Coordinate care closely with the
interdisciplinary care team. Provide screening, assessments, and
brief intervention for patients and families requiring services.
Document and maintain appropriate clinical documentation.
Contribute to the interdisciplinary treatment plan for each
patient. Integrate the social work plan into the overall care plan.
Systematically track treatment response. Monitor patients for
changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or
complications. Coordinate and implement discharge/transitional
planning activities with the multidisciplinary team. Facilitate
referrals to evidence-based therapeutic treatments and social
services as clinically indicated. Other duties may be assigned to
meet the needs of the department and organization. Knowledge,

deadlines. Schedule Requirements: This role requires regular and
sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a
standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours
shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to
organizational, patient, or employee needs. Physical Requirements:
