Over 35 years, this public television station has become a vital provider of quality programming, a statewide network, and a treasured service for the citizens of Montana and MontanaPBS; is poised for even more transformative growth. The Major Gifts Program Manager will play a central role in identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts to support new technology, facilities and programming for MontanaPBS. Contract Type MUS If other, please specify Recruitment Type Open Position Details General Statement The Major Gifts Manager will have revenue targets to meet each fiscal year and will be expected to utilize the moves management process of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to meet goals, all in service of preparing for a multi-year capital campaign as well as securing annual support. Strategically planned face-to-face meetings will be expected for higher level donors/prospects. Outreach will include extensive phone calling, personal hand-written notes, emails, travel throughout the state of Montana, and working some nights and weekends as required with planning and executing donor-focused events. All outreach will require contact documentation in the donor database and appropriate follow-up to secure and steward support for MontanaPBS. Duties and Responsibilities - Identify and cultivate prospective donors for MontanaPBS' upcoming Major Giving/Capital Campaign as well as annual operating support - Development and Management of the Leadership Society Membership Program ($1,000+ members) - In coordination with the Development Director, develop a plan, goals, and budget for MontanaPBS' Leadership Society membership program - Develop and manage effective systems for tracking donors through the moves management process of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship - Maintain a donor cultivation cycle and gift stewardship program to ensure that new major donors are developed, have opportunities to increase their level of support annually, and enjoy a close relationship to MontanaPBS - Prepare written materials, including correspondence, solicitation materials, renewals, acknowledgements, benefit processes and regular communications as part of the moves management process - Track and report on the progress of the Leadership Society program throughout the year - Coordinate with the Development team to ensure that the Leadership Society development plan feeds into other development plans - Identify potential major and planned gift prospects from the membership database - Conduct prospect research and create donor profiles for major and planned giving prospects as assigned Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills - A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience - Demonstrated applied knowledge of computer applications and fundamentals (database management, records maintenance, reporting functions, mail merge, etc.) - Demonstrated knowledge of the moves management process and experience tracking and moving donors through the pipeline of identification, qualification, cultivation, stewardship and solicitation - Experience with in-person, email, and over the phone solicitations - Experience successfully organizing and managing projects/events which included fund raising and public relations responsibilities Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills - Experience with member-based non-profit organizations including working with a board of directors and/or volunteers - Experience in commercial or non-commercial broadcasting - Experience using social networking sites, e-mail and mobile communications - Basic knowledge of public radio and/or television and its programming goals - Development database experience The Successful Candidate Will - Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills - Have willingness to travel throughout the state of Montana 25%-30% - Be able to execute multiple tasks in an organized manner and respond appropriately to multiple demands - Perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy, manage projects effectively, strategize new techniques, and recommend and implement successful organizational procedures and respond to rapid change, growth, and new assignments - Encourage and maintain collaboration in a team environment - Maintain and elevate positive relationships with donors and other constituents and seek new mutual beneficial relationships Position Special Requirements/Additional Information This job description should not be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements, but a general description of the job.
