  • You'll take over a well-run territory (the incumbent is retiring) including the entire state of Montana and Northern Wyoming.
  • The territory includes a well-established account base with a good deal of business in Bozeman and Billings, and plenty of untapped opportunities. Fresh eyes and a high-energy approach will take this territory to the next level.
  • Using a push-pull strategy, you'll promote Makita U.S.A. construction tools, products, and applications by supporting distributors and influencing end users at job sites.
  • You'll sell a highly respected and recognized brand backed by an innovative global industry leader.
  • This role can offer challenges and opportunities for years, or it can serve as a proving ground if you are interested in moving up -- in fact, history shows that several company leaders started out as Territory Sales Managers


    The ideal candidate for the Territory Sales Manager role will have strong professional sales skills, a solutions-oriented sales approach, experience in industrial sales, and the drive and self-motivation to get out in the field every day. At a minimum you should have:


    • 3 to 5+ years of territory management experience preferred; we will also consider degreed candidates with less experience, a positive attitude and the drive to win
    • A bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university, or 4 years of related trade experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
    • A background in industrial and/or construction sales; established contacts in the Montana and/or Wyoming markets are a plus
    • Knowledge of the power tool industry, and/or all phases of construction
    • Experience working with either distributors and end users; experience with both is preferred
    • Polished presentation skills and the ability to deliver effective presentations one-on-one or to a group of end users and/or distributors
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
    • Solid tool knowledge is highly preferred; actual construction work experience is helpful


      This is a role for a road warrior. You will spend a good deal of time in Bozeman and Billings (the ideal candidate will live near one or the other, or be willing to relocate) and will spend up to 50% of your time traveling, including substantial overnight travel. We'll provide a company truck, and you'll need a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
