Join our Research and Development team in Bozeman to help manage and contribute to the development of proprietary processes for Sulzer GTC. In this role you will be accountable for:

• Directing and coordinating the laboratory's research and development activities for products, processes, and services.
• Organizing and managing execution of studies and testing to verify technologies.
• Managing R&D aspects from idea generation through project execution, product launch, and product life cycle.
• Collaborating closely with the process engineering department and other R&D teams around the globe.
• Contributing to the strategic development of the R&D organization.
• Development and implementation of safety procedures. To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Education / Experience: Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, preferably with Doctorate and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience performing research management roles (i.e., lab supervisor, lab manager, principal researcher, or equivalent experience).
  • Project management experience with proven track record of taking products from idea to launch and successful completion of complex projects.
  • Technical skills / Know-How: Deep understanding of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering concepts, unit operations, mass transfer, heat transfer, thermodynamics and kinetics. Solid Chemistry background and basic knowledge of analytical methods used for various analytical instruments including GC, GC/MS, ICP-MS, HPLC, UV-vis and auto-titrator.
  • High level of ability to work independently upon several high priority workflows with efficient communication of progress and results; ability to define problems and path forward to possible solutions, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions; ability to connect the experimental results with the business relevance of the project. Thrives in an international/multi-cultural and multifunctional team. Performs well on a constant level also under high pressure.
